Aviate, Navigate, Communicate!
If you're a pilot, you know how important it is to be able to do these things and in that order. But to navigate and communicate requires equipment that is engineered to work well.
Modern aircraft utilize flight displays to provide information such as that from your GPS, airspeed, altitude, radio frequencies and more. But who makes them all work together?
Why is it important to have a diverse background of individuals working on these systems?
What do you need to be successful in this field?
In Episode 6, we meet Ramone Hemphill. An Avionics Systems Engineer who helps answer these questions and he happens to work for Collins Aerospace. He is one of many engineers who work together to help make the avionics systems work in aircraft.
He also happens to be a pilot and the founder of The 99th Squadron.
